The role will also contribute to network engagement and member support activities, event coordination and logistics, and research related to human rights.\n\n## Areas of Responsibilities & Key Activities\n\n### UN Advocacy and member support\n\n- Assist CIVICUS' engagement with the UN Human Rights Council and other human rights bodies.\n- Support the development of written materials, statements and speaking points.\n- Support CIVICUS' members and partners and human rights defenders during their advocacy missions and provide logistical support.\n\n### Event Coordination and Communication\n\n- Support in the organization of events as appropriate including logistical arrangements.\n- Assist the communications team in rolling out timely and effective communication materials.\n\n### Research and Administration\n\n- Assist in human rights and civic space related research including drafting of briefs and summaries.\n- Support administrative activities related to office management.\n\n### Other\n\n- The role holder will from time to time be required to carry out any other duties including.\n\n## Person Specification\n\n### Education, Language & Qualifications\n\n- A Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in international relations, law, politics, or relevant social sciences from a reputable university.\n- At least 6 months of relevant work experience in an international policy development or advocacy environment.\n\n### Essential Knowledge, skills and Experience\n\n- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.\n- Excellent IT skills, including experience with MS Office.\n- Good understanding of international relations and policy making.\n- Good understanding of the civil society landscape and global politics.\n- Ability to work in a team and network at with a broad range of external stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds.\n\n### Desirable Knowledge, skills and Experience\n\n- Other languages beneficial, Spanish or French an asset\n- Preferably based in Europe\n- Willingness to travel to Geneva or elsewhere in Europe 1-2 times during the internship\n\nThe closing deadline for applications is on the 13th of February 2026 at 11:59pm SAST\n\nWe appreciate and consider each application submitted.
