The portfolio covers police reform, international humanitarian law, human rights, oversight, civil society engagement, women’s and youth participation, access to justice, information integrity and the response to gender based violence.\n\nReporting to the Senior Project Officer, Niger, you will support the management of this portfolio at a rate of 37.5%, two days per week. The programme works in French and English, and you will be asked to contribute in both languages.\n\n## Key areas of operation\n\n- Contribute to project design, development, implementation, monitoring, budgeting and reporting, including concept notes, proposals, logical frameworks, budget tables and donor reports.\n\n- Conduct desk research, literature reviews and mapping exercises on security sector governance in Niger and the wider Sahel, and support the drafting of lessons learned papers and case studies.\n\n- Help develop training and workshop content, including background notes, agendas and participant materials, and adapt DCAF tools and guidance to the Nigerien context, in French and English.\n\n- Support the logistical and communication side of missions, events and publications in Geneva and Niamey, including documentation packs, proofreading, and web and social media content.\n\n- Contribute to the administrative, contractual and budgetary follow up of activities, including expenditure tracking against confirmed donor envelopes and the filing of supporting documents.\n\n- Take part in and minute meetings with the Niamey office, donors and national and international partners, prepare briefing notes and talking points, and report on relevant conferences and events.\n\n## Your experience\n\n- Master’s student or recent graduate in international relations, political science, development studies, law or a related field.\n\n- Demonstrated interest in security sector governance and reform, human rights, or peace and security in the Sahel.\n\n- Excellent drafting and analytical skills, with full working proficiency in French and English, as the programme operates in both languages.\n\n- Rigour, attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously and to deadlines.\n\n- Good command of MS Office, in particular Word and Excel; familiarity with SharePoint is an asset.\n\n- Previous experience in an international organisation, a research institution or a non-governmental organisation working on West Africa is an asset.\n\n- A valid work permit for Switzerland (or Swiss\u002FEU citizenship) at the time of application is a
