DIRECTOR, INTERNATIONAL PHYSICIANS FOR THE PREVENTION OF NUCLEAR WAR – GENEVA LIAISON OFFICE (IPPNW-GLO)
IPPNW-GLO is a Geneva-based non-profit association founded in February 2023 to advance the mission of IPPNW, a global non-partisan federation of national medical organizations dedicated to research, education, and advocacy relevant to the prevention of nuclear war and the promotion of peace. IPPNW is a registered US charity with headquarters in Boston.
Founded by US and Soviet physicians in 1980, IPPNW was winner of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize. It is the founding member organization of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), winner of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize, and continues to serve on the ICAN Steering Group. IPPNW has ECOSOC status at the United Nations, is in Official Relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and works closely with international health and civil society groups, many of whom are located or have a presence in Geneva.
The IPPNW-GLO Director is responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of staff, programs, and mission execution for IPPNW-GLO. Key aspects of the role include managing stakeholder and donor relations and working with international organizations, governments, and the media.
As IPPNW-GLO Director, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Director of IPPNW and the office staff in Boston, and with IPPNW affiliates within our federation. The Board and General Assembly of IPPNW-GLO provide broad oversight and support to the GLO Director. This is a full-time position in Geneva.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package based on location. The salary for this full-time position is CHF 80-90’000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
