The General Secretariat coordinates the implementation of the Strategic Plan, monitors the telecommunication\u002FICT environment and recommends as needed action relating to the Union’s future policies and strategy. The General Secretariat ensures inter-sectoral coordination and cooperation to advance a whole of ITU approach (One-ITU) in headquarters and the field. The General Secretariat provides logistical and information technology support to the Union’s activities including conferences and global forums; the coordination of the work of the Union with the United Nations system, and other international organizations; and the engagement of the Member States, Sector Members, and Academia. The General Secretariat manages corporate governance, and strategic communications and relations with the media, different stakeholder groups as well as the general public. \n\n## TERMS OF REFERENCE\n\nWithin the ITU Gender and Youth Office, under the supervision of the Associate Youth programme Officer, the intern will: \n\n- Participate in the ITU’s meaningful youth engagement work with and for young people globally.\n\n- Assist in the implementation of the ITU Youth Strategy, particularly through the ITU Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Board, the ITU Young Professionals Programme, the ITU Reverse Mentoring Initiative and ITU Youth Leadership activities.\n\n- Support the drafting and updating of reports, briefing notes, and other written materials youth matters for internal and external audiences.\n\n- Support ITU’s youth communications and community building efforts, to amplify ITU’s engagement with global youth through ITU social media and the ITU Future Innovators Podcast.\n\n## COMPETENCIES\n\n**Teamwork and Collaboration:** Able to work independently and also collaboratively to achieve team objectives.\n\n**Planning and Organizing:** Able to plan ahead, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage time effectively.\n\n## QUALIFICATION REQUIRED\n\n**Education:** University degree in any relevant field.\n\n**Experience:** No work experience required. \n\n**Languages:** English at advanced level.\n\n## REMUNERATION INFORMATION\n\nUnpaid Internship.\n\nPlease note that a non-remunerated Internship position at ITU does not carry the same conditions of employment as a Short-term or a Fixed-term position.
