This role combines web content strategy, technical management, user experience design, and hands-on publishing to ensure IUCN’s website is effective, secure, and engaging for global audiences. The position works closely with internal teams, external contractors, and IUCN’s Global Information Systems Group (GISG).\n\n## Job Description\n\nThe Website Manager is responsible for managing, optimising, and improving the IUCN website. Key areas of responsibility include:\n\n### Website Content Management and Publishing (30%)\n\n- Publish, maintain, and optimise web content prepared by the Global Communications Unit and other IUCN teams.\n- Ensure content consistency, logical structure, and a positive user experience.\n- Manage taxonomies, user permissions, and CMS interface.\n- Maintain compliance with IUCN’s visual identity, communications standards, and web best practices, including SEO and social media optimisation.\n- Design and adapt digital assets such as graphics, infographics, and banners to support web content and campaigns.\n- Contribute to the development of visually engaging digital materials aligned with IUCN’s brand and communication goals.\n\n### User Experience and Website Design (10%)\n\n- Contribute to ongoing improvements of site structure, navigation, and usability.\n- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners on website redesigns or major updates.\n- Advise on UX best practices, accessibility, and responsive design.\n- Conduct or support user testing, analytics reviews, and feedback analysis.\n\n### Training, Support, and Guidance (15%)\n\n- Train and provide technical support to IUCN site managers.\n- Develop and update website policies, guidelines, and training materials.\n- Support site managers in effectively using website features.\n\n### Technical Coordination and Maintenance (30%)\n\n- Liaise with GISG and external consultants to resolve technical issues, including administration, development, server management, and maintenance.\n- Identify and resolve platform bugs.\n- Track and report KPIs using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.\n\n### Continuous Improvement and Strategy (15%)\n\n- Provide strategic input into website development, redesign, and optimisation projects.\n- Produce evidence-based insights to support future web initiatives.\n\n## Requirements\n\n- University degree in communications, web\u002Fdigital design, computer science, or a related field preferred.\n- Minimum 5 years in website management, including CMS administration.\n- Experience with Drupal required; other CMS experience desirable.\n- Proven track record in website redesigns, UX improvements, and digital design.\n- Experience with Google Analytics; knowledge of Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console advantageous.\n- Familiarity with A\u002FB testing tools, user testing, and data visualisation is an asset.\n- Advanced HTML; familiarity with JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, PHP, and XML desirable.\n- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar design\u002Fprototyping tools.\n- Strong understanding of UX\u002FUI principles, accessibility, and responsive design.\n- Skills in image, video, infographic, and graphic design considered an asset.\n- Professional proficiency in English required; proficiency in French and\u002For Spanish is an advantage.\n- Proactive, autonomous, and results focused.\n- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.\n- Creative, adaptable, and solution oriented.\n- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.\n- Flexible, with willingness to work outside normal hours when required.\n- Committed to continuous learning and professional development.\n\n## Salary\n\nThe gross annual salary for this position is between CHF 100'355 and CHF 125'444, subject to deductions for social security contributions and second-pillar pension, and before tax. While this is an indicative amount effective as of the current date, changes may occur as per IUCN's compensation practices without prior notice.
