The incumbent supports BDT's publishing and editing needs to produce high-quality reports and publications.\n\n## Responsibilities\n\n### Editorial Work\n- Correct language, grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors\n- Suggest improvements for unclear, ambiguous, or redundant passages\n- Check content for logical flow, consistency, and clarity\n- Ensure compliance with the ITU style guide and typographical conventions\n- Identify erroneous references, quotes, and links\n- Verify presentation and layout of text and graphics\n- Liaise with authors, project managers, and focal points for clarification\n\n### Publishing & Workflow\n- Recommend appropriate publication families and templates per ITU-D guidelines\n- Coordinate correction workflows with composition services and authors\n- Establish and monitor production schedules based on Publications Board deadlines\n- Track delays and ensure commitments are met throughout the production chain\n- Improve workflows in line with publishing best practices\n\n### Advisory & Administrative\n- Provide editorial support to ITU-D conferences\n- Maintain and update BDT publication guidelines\n- Provide meeting minutes on publication-related issues\n- Suggest improvements to publication forewords and draft input to the Publications Board\n- Support the Editorial Committee of WTDC\n\n## Qualifications\n\n**Education:** University degree in literature, journalism, communication, political science, or a related field\n\n**Experience:** Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in writing, editing, and publishing with strong English communication skills. An advanced degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.\n\n**Languages:** Advanced level in at least one UN official language; intermediate level in a second official language\n\n##
