French-speaking)","Switzerland for UNHCR",["Date","2026-09-22T09:43:31.207Z"],"2026-10-02 23:59",[10],"French",null,"https:\u002F\u002Fjobs.world.luccasoftware.com\u002Fch4u\u002Fstrategic-partnerships-officer-new-business--maternity-leave-cover-8c87a960-e2e9-45b1-8b0b-df1ff524fa22","**Location:** Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland\n\n**Contract Type:** Fixed-term contract | up to 6 months\n\n**Working Mode:** On-site\n\n**Reporting line:** New Business Lead \u002F PPH Operations Manager\n\n**Start date:** as soon as possible\n\n**Application deadline:** 2 October 2026\n\n## Job description\n\n**This is a maternity leave cover for a maximum period of six (6) months.**\n\nThe Strategic Partnerships Officer (New Business) will contribute to further develop and expand fundraising and marketing of the organisation, drive the strategy implementation, undertake prospect research and maintain the prospect and donor pipeline.\n\nWorking under the guidance of the Corporates\u002FFoundations New Business Lead and in close coordination with the rest of the Partnerships and Philanthropy Team, the Strategic Partnership Officer will identify and connect with **corporations and trusts\u002Ffoundations in Switzerland and Liechtenstein**.\n\nHe\u002Fshe will cultivate and manage the relationships with prospective donors and help secure income for UNHCR programs through the Swiss Foundation.\n\n### Tasks and Responsibilities:\n\n- Initiate and participate in the development of specific new business opportunities with Corporates and Foundations, in line with the fundraising strategy.\n\n- Develop proposals and pitches for potential new private sector partnerships, prioritizing high-value (6- and 7-figure financial contributions) and multi-year commitments.\n\n- Research new prospects, deliver best practice cultivation and stewardship to prospects.\n\n- Ensure an appropriate strategic and tactical response to prospects in the event of humanitarian emergencies.\n\n- Keep aware of the fundraising and business environment and proactively develop new opportunities for UNHCR in Switzerland, appropriately influencing the organization to explore new models of partnership.\n\n- Work within UNHCR’s due diligence screening policy and processes for Private Sector Partnerships.\n\n- Monitor and track interactions with prospects and progress of opportunities through the tools used by the team (Salesforce-based CRM environment, active pipeline management spreadsheet).\n\n- Support CH4U team’s efforts to position UNHCR as a “go to” charity brand for the private community in Switzerland.\n\n## Profile required\n\n### Experience\n\n- 3 - 5 years’ relevant work experience\n\n- Experience working for an International non-for-profit agency \u002F organization is considered a strong asset\n\n### Education\n\n- Graduate or post graduate degree.\n\n### Skills and Attributes\n\n- Ability to use initiative, prioritize, multi-task, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines\n\n- Clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates strong judgment and problem-solving competencies\n\n- Excellent analytical skills\n\n- Well organized and structured with high attention to details and process oriented\n\n- Very good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced multi-cultural and multilingual environment \n\n- Good capacity to work autonomously as well as a team player\n\n- Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders\n\n- Relevant experience in building solid partnerships with corporations, foundations and other potential donors\n\n- A track record of securing significant cash donations from foundations, corporations and\u002For High Net Worth Individuals \n\n- Knowledge of the Swiss fundraising context\n\n- Exceptional presentation, communication and persuasion skills; able to convey UNHCR’s mission and impact in a compelling, concise manner tailored to a sophisticated philanthropic audience\n\n### Other requirements\n\n- Knowledge, interest and a strong commitment for the work and mission of UNHCR and the refugee cause \n\n- Excellent oral & written command of French and English;
