Graphic Design and Multimedia Intern

Organization: UNRISD (United Nations Research Institute for Social Development)
Location: Geneva, Switzerland (in-person or remote)
Contract: Internship (unpaid)
Duration: 4–6 months (from 4 May 2026)
Deadline: 9 April 2026 at 23:59 CEST

Responsibilities

The intern will support the Communications and Outreach unit by:

• Creating visual content for social media (videos, cards, etc.)
• Designing research publications and outreach materials with consistent branding
• Formatting and distributing newsletters via email marketing tools
• Managing and updating website content
• Tracking digital trends and contributing to communication campaigns
• Co-authoring monthly performance reports analyzing engagement metrics

Requirements

• Background in communications, graphic design, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with design and video/audio editing
• Familiarity with tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
• Knowledge of major social platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
• Strong written English; other UN languages are a bonus
• Must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university degree program (within one year)
